Fashion Week: 5 Things I learnt

by - September 28, 2016

If there was one thing that I was excited for, it was fashion week. Being on social media and following many bloggers around world, I, well a lot of us, got to see them attend fashion week. Be it New York, London or even Pairs. Its so glamorous. The rush, the people, the fashion, just what I wanted.

SA Fashion Week was held at Hyde Park Corner from the 20th till the 24th of September. I attended 3 out of the 5 days. As the days went by, the more I saw, the more I realized what goes into the week.

If there is anything I can take back its the five things I learnt:

1. Its not as glamorous as it seems.
Of course it is what you make of it, however if you going to complain about everything around you then be warned your night will be a bore. I made the best of it. I made sure I went there with an open mind.

2. Going alone was the best thing.
Some said I was crazy to go alone, maybe, but by doing that I felt confident to approach people and just start a conversation. I was truly lucky to have met such wonderful people.

3. Know what you wearing a few days before.
The first day and its outfit was well planned. The other 2 days I just went with it. I shouldn't have. When you're prepared for a show and knowing what will compliment your body, you just feel at ease.

4. Photography.
Lighting is everything, I am no expert but to get a perfect shot, you need to be there early. One would think that its Fashion Week and the lighting everywhere is just perfect. ERRRR, no. I got there so early that the models weren't even ready. In all honesty, I wasn't a fan of that because I felt rushed.

5. The fashion showcased is not for everyone.
Some people just got up and left. Some never looked up but just glazed at their phones the entire show and some people didn't even bother to show up which means there were plenty of front row seats available for the stand by people.

Even though it wasn't exactly what I had imaged, next show, I will be there in a heart beat. .

Day 1
I wore a beautiful Pocahontas inspired dress from Mango and
I paired it with strappy heels from Woolworths.

Day 4
I opted for a perfect Friday night outfit. The black skirt from
Forever New paired with a grey polar neck sleeveless top. Now my shoes, have been a great hit,
but for some reason I have no idea where I bought them from. It was about 3 years ago.
My black sequence bag is from Kardashian Kollection.

Due to certain circumstances  Day 2 and its outfit was not available.
Apologies for the inconvenience.
