Fitness Diary #3: Embrace It!

To say that my fitness journey has been breeze would be a lie. In fact, it has been more challenging than I had anticipated. There are rewarding days where I feel focused and give it my all but also days when the thought of gym is just painful.

I had started writing this post about a month ago and wanted to talk about the pros and cons of weighing yourself. I had also formed an unhealthy relationship with my scale, which is not a good way to start your morning.

The most important thing is to feel good about yourself first, especially when you wake up. I somehow forgot that.

I started thinking back to the day my fitness journey began. I hadn’t set any goals for myself or even thought about what I wanted to gain from this lifestyle change. I did it because my doctor basically told me to lose weight; that was 4 years ago.

Now that I’m at my target weight, I have maintained it but want more than just physical change or a stronger mind-set. Each day I learn more about myself and have accepted that this journey I am on is a lifestyle that needs to be embraced and enjoyed every day. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
